CrossTec Remote Control now Provides Support for Vista
BOCA RATON, Fla. ( March 21, 2007) – CrossTec Corporation has announced the release of CrossTec Remote Control v10.02 offering support for all Vista 32-bit and 64-bit variants. The latest update includes Vista support for remote control, remote deployment, integrated support for User Account Control (UAC), remote login / logout, hardware and software inventory, remote screen monitoring and recording and much more. CrossTec Remote Control v10.02 enables users to control Vista PCs or control any supported Remote Control v10 client from a Vista PC.
CrossTec Remote is one of the first remote control products to provide a complete remote management solution for Windows Vista. Several Remote Control vendors have announced limited support of Vista by requiring the addition of software agents to their start-up folders, disabling the user "accept / deny" security validation process and setting the Vista desktop to run in Windows Classic theme. CrossTec Remote provides full support of systems without compromising the additional security and benefits built into the new OS.
CrossTec Remote also supports all other Windows platforms from Win 95, Mac OS, Linux, Solaris, PPC, Win CE and Windows Mobile platforms.
CrossTec Remote v10, which was released in late 2006, provided Beta support of Vista. Designed for supporting users and servers across an entire organization's infrastructure, CrossTec Remote v10 also featured the ability for file transfers to be sent from one PC to multiple PCs, larger file transfer sizes and enhanced Text chat. The new version also offered new ways to view and organize user lists; gateway redundancy; added security and audit logging features; new CE device support and more.
CrossTec Remote is available as a standalone point product or as part of the CrossTec EMST (Enterprise Management System) suite. Based on the Remote Control product, CrossTec EMS includes asset management and inventory reporting, software distribution and Internet and application monitoring. CrossTec Remote Control v10 comes on the heels of CrossTec's release of ResQRemote. ResQRemote is a browser-based remote control, Web chat and screen demo solution designed for on-demand support of end users and customers over the Internet.
The product is scheduled for release in May of 2007 and will list for under $50,000. CrossTec will be exhibiting at InfoSec being held in Orlando, Fl on March 19 - 20 in Booth 626. CrossTec will be demonstrating Activeworx Security Center SIEM and Activeworx SMC an effective and low cost solution for Snort sensor management.
